How Skidson handles your data, and why this website does not ask you to accept tracking cookies.
// In short
This website does not use tracking or marketing cookies, and does not run analytics software such as Google Analytics. Because of that, there is no cookie consent banner. We only use a small number of strictly necessary functional cookies that are required for the site to work.
// 02, Cookies we use
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Under the GDPR and the Dutch Telecommunications Act, consent is only required for cookies that are not strictly necessary, such as tracking, advertising, and analytics cookies. This website uses none of those. The only cookies we set are functional and exempt from the consent requirement:
Both cookies are placed on our own domain (first party), are not shared with third parties, and are not used to build a profile of you or to follow you across other websites.
// 03, Why there is no cookie banner
A consent banner is legally required only when a website places cookies that track visitors or that are used for analytics and marketing. Since we do not do any of that, asking for consent would be unnecessary. Functional cookies that are needed to make the site work, remember your language, and keep you logged in do not require a banner.
// 04, Personal data
We only process personal data that you provide to us yourself, for example when you send a message through the contact form or by email. That data is used solely to respond to your request and to carry out any agreement that follows. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties except where necessary to perform a service you asked for, such as shipping or payment processing.
// 05, How long we keep data
We keep the personal data you send us no longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law (for example, tax and administration obligations). After that period the data is deleted or anonymised.
// 06, Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a question about your privacy, contact us at info@skidson.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
